Welcome to the Governors section of the school website.
Firstly may I introduce myself. My name is Robert Smith I live and work in the town and was educated at Castledyke Primary in the days when it was known as County school.
I became a Governor in 1998, when both my children were here. I have been the Chair of Governors for the past 8 years. My role as Chair is leading a dedicated team of Governors who voluntarily give their time and expertise to the school.
Below are the key responsibilities of the Governing body:
- Ensure accountability.
- Set targets.
- Set the strategic direction of the school.
- Set and monitor the school budget.
- Monitor and evaluate school progress.
- Responsible for raising standards.
- Staffing.
- Health and Safety.
I believe Castledyke is a forward thinking school, with an excellent team of dedicated staff lead by an inspirational Head and Senior Leadership Team.
At Castledyke the focus is always on the development of the whole child giving them the opportunity to grow into confident young people.
Our School has an outstanding reputation within North Lincolnshire and beyond for providing an excellent learning environment for our children. For example all year 4, 5 and 6 pupils have been provided with a laptop computer which they can take home to enhance their learning experience; we hope to further expand on this for other year groups in the future.
Castledyke has its own School Councillor who provides emotional support for those children and families who may need it. Castledyke has always had an open door policy where families can discuss concerns, issues with the children’s mentor who gives a warm welcome and provides support and advice to both children and parents.
In choosing Castledyke for your child you can be confident that you have made the right decision.
If you are interested in becoming a Parent Governor please contact me via the school office, full training is available to support you in your role.
Regards
Robert Smith
