Welcome to the Governors section of the school website. Firstly may I introduce myself. My name is Jenny Jefferson I live in the town. My role as Chair is leading a dedicated team of Governors who voluntarily give their time and expertise to the school.

I believe Castledyke is a forward thinking school, with an excellent team of dedicated staff lead by an inspirational Head and Senior Leadership Team.

At Castledyke the focus is always on the development of the whole child giving them the opportunity to grow into confident young people.

Our School has an outstanding reputation within North Lincolnshire and beyond for providing an excellent learning environment for our children. For example pupils in years 4, 5 and 6 have been provided with a laptop which they can take home to enhance their learning experience; ICT is a strong facet of the education provided at Castledyke.

Castledyke has its own School Councillors who provide emotional support for those children and families who may need it. Castledyke has always had an open door policy where families can discuss concerns or issues with the children’s mentor who gives a warm welcome and provides support and advice to both children and parents.

In choosing Castledyke for your child you can be confident that you have made the right decision.

Regards
Jenny Jefferson
Chair of Governors

Below are the key responsibilities of the Governing body:

The Governing Body suppport and challenge the Senior Leadership Team within the school. They are responsible for all of the leagl requirements of the school including National Testing and Assessment requirments.

The Governing Body meets 3 times a year as a full group and the leaders within the school including the Headteacher provide reports and data to support the Governors in their decision making and questioning. As well as these meetings Castledyke Governors have a Committee Structure which deals with Finance/HR, Curriculum and School Development. As well as this Governors come into school to support Health and Safety, Special Educational Needs, Safegaurding, Looked After Children as well as different curriculum areas. We are lucky at Castledyke in that our Governors also take a strong interest in pastoral and all other school events, they can often be found in school attending various events or supporting visits.

All day to day management of the school is by the Headteacher. The Governors work at a strategic level.

If any parent is interested in becoming a Governor of Castledyke Primary School please contact Governors Section at Hewson House, Brigg 01724 297240 or contact the school office.
